Requirements for additional and new gas cylinders exceeded available capital investment in Europe. I developed an investment strategy to give direction and recommend priorities based on a common product evolution goal. Based on product sales and margin performance, I worked with stakeholders and identified optimum product margin scenarios using a ROCE model. Our recommendation for smaller higher pressure gas cylinders enabled Business Unit Heads in prioritising investment resources on the right products.
